Mustafizur sold to Hyderabad for Tk 1.62cr
Bangladesh left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman, who has enjoyed a lot of success against India, was sold to Sunrisers Hyderabad at one crore 40 lakh rupees in Indian Premier League (IPL) auction on Saturday.
The base price set for the Bangladesh ace-bowler was 50 lakh rupees.
Sunrisers Hyderabad was first to show their interest on 20-year-old pacer, mostly known all around the world for his deadly cutters.
As soon as team Sunrisers Hyderabad, mentored by VVS Laxman, called for the Bangladesh wonder boy, Daniel Vettori’s Royal Challengers Bangalore hastily made their move to get hands on the ‘cutter master’. A stirring round of bidding followed subsequently, reports bdcricteam.com.
It took 19 bids to Sunrisers Hyderabad to emerge as the winners in the race of getting Mustafizur in their team.
Hyderabad will have to pay Rs1.40 crore, which stands for Tk 1.62 crore.
Earlier in the morning, Bangladesh Test captain Mushfiqur Rahim was also in the radar but eventually he remained unsold. After some time, hard hitting Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal too was auctioned, but he too remained unsold.
