Bangladesh to play India in 1st semi Saturday

Guwahati: Bangladesh will face hosts India in the first semifinal of the 12th South Asian Games Men's Football on Saturday at the Indira Gandhi Stadium here with both the teams keeping their eyes on final.

The match will kick off at 2:00pm local time.

The Maldives will face Nepal in the other semifinal on the same day at 7:00pm at the same venue.

Bangladesh smartly booked a seat for the last four stage as the group B champion with unbeaten run securing four points from two matches while India managed a semifinal berth as the Group A runners-up collecting three points from two encounters.

Earlier in the group matches, Bangladesh beat Nepal 1-0 after playing 1-1 draw with Bhutan while India beat the Maldives 3-2 after conceding 0-1 defeat against Sri Lanka, the Maldives outplayed Sri Lanka 3-1 before conceding 2-3 defeat against India while Nepal crushed Bhutan 5-0 after suffering 1-2 defeat against Bangladesh.
