Daffodil University Cricket team leaves for India Thursday

Dhaka: A 16-member Daffodil International University Cricket team left here for India Thursday to participate in the All India International University T20 Cricket Tournament known as KIIT Premier League to be held in the Indian city of Bhubaneswar, Odisha on February 18-28.

Twelve teams--eleven university teams from India and Daffodil International University of Bangladesh-split into four groups, will participate in the tournament, hosted by Kallinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) University.  

Deputy Registrar of the University Ishaq Miji accompanied the team as manager.

Daffodil International University will play the first match against Andhra University of Hyderabad on February 20, will face Delhi University on February 23 in their second match, to be played under BCCI rules.

The other participating teams are: University of Mumbai, SRM University, Chennai, KIIT University in Bhubaneswar, Goutam Buddha University in Noida, Utkal University Bhubaneswar, DAV Sports University, Ravenshaw University, Cuttack, Jamia Millia Islami University, New Delhi and Al Falah University Faridabad.
