Dhaka: The Independence Cup Football Tournament, to be organised by Bangladesh Football Federation, will kick off on March 30 at Bangabandhu National Stadium in the city.

Twelve teams will participate in the tournament to be held at the Bangabandhu National Stadium and Kamalapur Stadium.

The decision was taken in the 63rd meeting of the BFF Professional Football League Committee at the BFF Board room on Thursday with committee chairman and BFF Vice President Abdus Salam Murshedy in the chair.

The meeting also decided to extend the player transfer formalities for the Bangladesh Premier League till March 20 from February 28 following the appeal of two promoted clubs -- Uttar Baridhara Club and Arambagh KS.

But, the player transfer formalities for the foreign booters will remain unchanged and will continue till March 31.
