Six months after the controversial ball tampering scandal that cost him his captaincy and place in the team, former Australian Test cricketer Steve Smith and his long-time partner Dani Willis have tied the knot on Saturday.

Smith shared a photo on his Instagram account with this caption: ‘Today I got to Marry my best friend. What an absolutely incredible day. @dani_willis looked unbelievably beautiful’.

After years of courtship, the couple got engaged in July last year when the Australian skipper proposed his girlfriend on top of the famous Rockefeller Centre in New York. Dani said yes immediately and the couple had then taken to Instagram to announce the news of their engagement.
