Dhaka: Bangladesh smartly bounced back in the Asia Cup Cricket outplaying the United Arab Emirates by 51 runs in their 2nd match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Friday.

This is the first victory of the Tigers after conceding a 45-run defeat to India in the opening match of the tournament on Wednesday at the same venue.

Replying to Bangladesh’s moderate total of 133 runs for 8, the UAE were all out for 82 runs in 17.4 overs against the devastating bowling attack, led by Mahmudullah.

Mahmudullah, skipper Mashrafe, cutter Mustafizur Rahman and Shakib Al Hasan grabbed two wickets each conceding 5, 12, 13 and 20 runs respectively.

Mahmudullah who also scored not out 36 while batting was adjudged the man of the match.

Pacer Al Amin Hossain and Taskin Ahmed took one wicket each conceding 8 and 24 runs respectively.

Among the UAE batsmen, Muhammad Usman topscored run-a-ball 30 before he was clean bowled by Taskin Ahmed. Rohan Mustafa (18) and Muhammad Shahzad (12) were the other notable batsmen for UAE reaching the double figure.

Replying to Bangladesh’s 133 for 8 runs, the UAE opened the innings and faced initial batting collapse losing the first wicket for 2 runs in 1.3 overs.

Pacer Al Amin Hossain made the first breakthrough in UAE innings removing opener Muhammad Kaleem for a duck in the 3rd ball of the 2nd overs with team total just two runs in 1.3 overs.

Skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza grabbed two wickets of Rohan Mustafa (18) and Shaiman Anwar (1) in his two successive overs (5th and 7th overs).

Cutter Mustafizur Rahman came in the 8th overs removing Muhmmad Shahzad (12) and SP Patil (0) in his two successive deliveries, leaving the UAE at 34 for 5 in in 7.2 overs.

Earlier, Bangladesh displayed an immature batting against the ICC associated nation as they scored 133 for 8 in 20 overs with opener Mohammad Mithun's topscoring 47off 41 balls, including four boundaries and two sixes.

Mithun left the crease at 81/3 in 11.4 overs as he was run out falling three runs short of half century.  

Rohan Mustafa delivered to Mithun who tossed up the ball edging towards the keeper and set off aimlessly for a quick single and taking that chance, keeper Swapnil Patil whipped off the bails.

Mahmudullah hit unbeaten 36 off 27 balls, including one boundary and two sixes, in his number-six position.

Bangladesh started their batting well as the opening pair between Mithun and Soumya Sarkar contributed 46 runs in 5.2 overs.

Soumya hit 21 off 14 balls including two boundaries and one six, before being caught by skipper Amjad Javed off Mohammad Shahzad delivery.

World famed all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan was another double figure scorer for Bangladesh with run-a-ball 13 that include one boundary.

Bangladesh lost three middle-order batsmen -- Shakib, Nurul Hasan and Mashrafe Bin Mortaza -- in one over for two runs, from 112/5 in 17.2 to 114/7 in 18.2 overs.  

Mohammad Naveed and Amjad Javed bagged two wickets for 12 and 34 runs delivering four overs each. Rohan Mustafa and Mohammad Shahzad took one wicket apiece for 30 and 38 runs.

Earlier, Bangladesh has made one change since their 45-run loss to India, replacing Imrul Kayes with wicketkeeper-batsman Nurul Hasan. The UAE, who lost to Sri Lanka by 14 runs, brought in Fahad Tariq for Qadeer Ahmed.
