Tigers' final squad for ICC World T20
Dhaka: Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Wednesday announced the final squad for the upcoming ICC World Twenty20 to be held in India from 8 March to 3 April.
Masrafe Bin Mortaza will lead the Tigers while world famed all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will assist him as vice captain.
Mohammad Mithun and Nurul Hasan Sohan, who made their T20I debut against Zimbabwe in January, have been included in the squad as wicketkeepers along with Test skipper Mushfiqur Rahim.
All- rounder Nasir Hossain retuned in the squad after being rested in a series while Arafat Sunny will accompany Shakib as spinner.
New inclusion Abu Hider Rony will enrich the pace department along with skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Al Amin Hossain and youngster Taskin Ahmed.
Opener Imrul Kayes, middle order batsman Shuvagata Hom, new comer Muktar Ali and Kamrul Hasan Rabbi have been named as standby players.
Bangladesh will start their tournament campaign taking on the Netherlands in their Group-A match at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala on 9 March.
Bangladesh have been placed in the Group-A along with the Netherlands, Ireland and Oman in the qualifying round.
Bangladesh squad: Masrafe Bin Mortaza (Captain), Shakib Al Hasan (Vice Captain), Tamim Iqbal, Soumya Sarker, Mohammad Mithun, Mahmudullah Riyad, Mushfiqur Rahim, Sabbir Rahman, Nasir Hossain, Mustafizur Rahman, Al Amin Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, Arafat Sunny, Abu Haider Rony and Nurul Hasan Sohan.
Standby: Imrul Kayes, Kamrul Islam Rabbi, Shuvagata Hom Chowdhury and Muktar Ali.
