The Tiger camp was struck with double blow right after their first qualifying encounter of ICC World Twenty20 2016 against Netherlands on 9 March.

Bangladesh defeated the Dutch by 8 runs at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium in Dharamsala on Wednesday. But after the match the Tigers got the first bad news which is concerning the left-arm spinner Arafat Sunny, who bowled two overs in the match. ‘It has been learnt that the on-field umpires for the match, Rod Tucker and S Ravi found Sunny’s bowling action suspicious. The umpired reportedly informed it to Bangladesh’s team manager Khaled Mahmud Sujon’, reports bdcricteam.com.

‘However, according to reliable sources, the umpires wanted to give Sunny another lifeline. But if such suspicion arises in Bangladesh’s next two Qualifiers as well, then they might officially hand over reports, citing concerns about the legality of Sunny’s bowing.’

If this was a shocker, the next one was a mighty blow. It is known that young pace sensation of the team Taskin Ahmed has also been under supposition of suspected bowling action along with Sunny.

‘Match officials informed the team manager Khaled Mahmud about their suspicion in this regard although Khaled Mahmud is yet to inform anything formally about the incidents.’

If Arafat Sunny and Taskin Ahmed will be officially accused of suspected bowling action, they will have to undergo bowling tests within 14 days of being reported. ‘But an accused bowler can bowl in international cricket until the result of the test proves his bowling action illegal.’
