Sri Lankan batsmen Kumar Sangakkara and Tillakaratne Dilshan are once again on a strong partnership eyeing a huge total against Scotland in their ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 Pool A match.

Both the batsmen scored half-century. He got to his half century of 54 balls, going about his job in sedate fashion. By the look of things, he could well be headed for his second century of the tournament.

Sangakkara’s milestone came in 56 balls. The fifty came shortly after Tillakaratne Dilshan, batting at the other end, got to his fifty. With both batsmen having reached fifties Sri Lanka may now look to step on the gas.

To their credit, the Scottish bowlers have bowled tight lines and have made the duo work for the runs. But, if they don’t keep picking wickets, these two could explode shortly. Both batsmen have already started playing more freely and the intensity will only increase as time progresses.

After the early wicket of Lahiru Thirimanne, Kumar Sangakkara came out to join Dilshan and since then, they have been quite chanceless. The scoring rate isn’t quite up there now but if these two keep going. Sri Lanka could be staring at a huge total. Earlier, Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat first on a good track at Hobart. Sri Lanka won’t carry much pressure on their shoulders going into the match as they have already qualified from Pool A alongside New Zealand, Australia and Bangladesh. Scotland are yet to win a single match in the tournament and would hope to get the better of Sri Lanka.
