Dhaka: Bangladesh pace bowler Taskin Ahmed who was suspended by the International Cricket Council (ICC) from the international cricket for illegal bowling action returned home on Friday.

He landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport from India at about 9:00am.

Taskin was officially banned on March 19 (Saturday) from bowling in the international cricket following an independent assessment in Chennai on March 15.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) lodged an appeal for a review of the suspension last week, but the suspension was upheld on March 23 by ICC Judicial Commissioner Michael Beloff QC.

However, Taskin can undergo a 2nd test anytime if he thinks his bowling action is legal.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) also wants to take a go-slow policy in this regard.

BCB president Nazmul Hasan Papon said, ‘As there is no chance for Taskin to play in the ongoing World T20, it would be better for him to take some time off before undergoing for the further test.’

‘He will start work on his bowling action first, and then will undergo the test in any suitable time,’ he said.

Taskin was reported for the suspected bowling action during the World T20 round-one match against Netherlands in Dharamsala on March 9.
