Dhaka: World’s number one all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and cutter sensation Mustafizur Rahman are expected to face off, if they are included in the best XI of their respective sides, in the 8th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Saturday.

Shakib’s Kolkata Knight Riders will face Mustafiz’s Sunrisers Hyderabad (SH) at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad at 4:30pm Bangladesh time, reported UNB.

If Shakib manages his place in the KKR best XI on Saturday and Mustafiz again for SH XI, the fans will enjoy the clash of Shakib and Mustafiz in a foreign league for the first time.

Shakib is featuring in the T20 format IPL for KKR for the 6th time after he made his debut in 2011. He played a vital role for KKR when the side clinched the tournament title in 2012 and 2014.

In 2012, Shakib played 8 matches to score 91 runs and claim 12 wickets while delighted his fans with a total score of 227 runs and 11 wickets in 13 matches in 2014.

In his IPL career, Shakib scored 383 runs, including highest 60, at an average of 21.27 playing 32 matches while captured 38 wickets, including best figure of 3/17, conceding 827 runs at an average of 21.76.

But this year, KKR played two of their matches without Shakib and began their 9th edition campaign with a 9-wicket victory against Delhi Daredevils while conceded a 6-wicket defeat against Mumbai Indians.

Mustafiz, who is playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SH) in the IPL, captured 2 wickets for 26 runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in his first appearance in any foreign cricket league on April 12.

On the way to his 2/26, Mustafiz first dismissed big hitter AB de Villiers of South Africa and then Shane Robert Watson of Australia when RCB collected 227/4 in 20 overs for a 45-run win against SH.
