‘National hero’ Mustafiz to be accorded red carpet reception
Dhaka: To offer red carpet reception to any foreign guest is not unknown to anybody. Though the world-cricket sensation and ‘national hero’ Mustafizur Rahman is not an exodus to Bangladesh, the Bangladesh government is framing a plan to honour the most popular person in the country Mustafiz with a red carpet reception owing to his accomplishment in home and abroad.
After taking the whole world by storm in last one year, since his international debut against Pakistan in 24 April 2015 in a T20I match, the cutter master is now showing his dexterity and excellence in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) Season 9. The opposition team’s batsmen are in desperate condition to face the fire of the cutter master. The Hyderabad Sunrisers star grabbed seven wickets in six matches with a spectacular economy rate of only 6.18.
Mustafiz is receiving flood of compliments from Sunrisers’ coach-captain to cricket experts.
Mustafiz has so far won many awards and accolades within the short period of his hang out at the international level of cricket. And now he is once again going to be awarded by a tremendous fashion. Word is that the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Bangladesh is going to roll out a red carpet for the wonder kid.
Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Arif Khan Joy on Thursday revealed that they are going to honour Mustafiz in a way that no one did before. ‘When Mustafizur will be back in the country after the IPL, we will roll out a red carpet for him, and then we will felicitate for the way he has been making the entire nation proud,’ said the minister.
Only a fortnight ago, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal termed Mustafiz as a ‘national hero’. Even some posters of Mustafiz donning jersey of his IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad and the national cricket team have been put up in front of the main gate of Planning Ministry.
