Dhaka: A legal notice was served on the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Tuesday asking it to file an appeal with the International Cricket Council (ICC) demanding punishment of the two umpires for their wrong decisions against Bangladesh during the second quarterfinal of the ICC Cricket World Cup.  

Supreme Court lawyer Eunus Ali Akond sent the notice to the BCB president, cricket team manger and sports secretary asking them to submit the appeal within 24 hours seeking compensation from the ICC.

He also said he would file a writ petition with the High Court in this regard if the BCB does not file the appeal within 24 hours.

The lawyer said he served the notice in the interest of the nation.

On 19 March, Bangladesh lost to India by 109 runs in the second quarterfinal at Melbourne Cricket Ground, Australia. Several decisions of the umpires went against the Tigers during the match, depriving Bangladesh of a victory.
