London, United Kingdom: Pakistan beat England by 10 wickets to win the fourth Test at The Oval on Sunday as they ended the four-match series all square at 2-2.

Chasing just 40 to win, Pakistan won when Azhar Ali (30 not out) hit off-spinner Moeen Ali for six.

Sami Aslam was 12 not out in a victory that coincided with Pakistan's national Independence Day.

England were dismissed for 253 in their second innings on Sunday's fourth day.

Leg-spinner Yasir Shah took five for 71 after Younis Khan (218) and Asad Shafiq (109) made excellent centuries in Pakistan's first innings 542 all out.

England 1st Innings 328 (M Ali 108, J Bairstow 55; Sohail Khan 5-68)

Pakistan 1st Innings 542 (Younis Khan 218, Asad Shafiq 109; C Woakes 3-82, S Finn 3-110)

England 2nd Innings 253 (J Bairstow 81; Yasir Shah 5-71)

Pakistan 2nd Innings 42-0
