Brothers taste first win in BPL thrashing Sheikh Russel 3-1
Dhaka: Brothers Union Club tasted the first victory in their 7th match of the JB Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football beating winless Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra by 3-1 goals at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here on Tuesday.
After the match, Brothers Union clinched the 7th slot in the league table collecting 8 points from seven matches while Sheikh Russel KC remained at the bottom with their previous credit of one point from seven outings.
In the day’s match, Haitian forward Augustin Walson struck twice and Nkowcha Kingsley netted the other for the Gopibagh outfit, Brothers, while substitute Shakhawat Hossain Rony netted the lone goal for Sheikh Russel KC.
Nigerian forward Nkowcha Kingsley put Brothers Union ahead in the 17th minute by his solo effort with right footer (1-0).
Haitian forward Augustin Walson doubled the margin for Brothers in the 32nd minute by an eye-catching free kick with right footer outside from the box (2-0).
Rony reduced the margin for Sheikh Russel KC in the 55th minute by a right footed beautiful shot (2-1).
Augustin Walson sealed the fate of the match scoring his 2nd and the 3rd goal for Brothers Union in the added time by a right-footed ground shot (3-1).
Earlier in the 2nd minute, Sheikh Russel managed a good chance to take lead but a right footed shot of their Cameroonian forward Paul Emile was brilliantly saved by Brothers custodian Uttam Barua.
