Dhaka: Touring Afghanistan Cricket Team had around a three-hour practice session amid VIP security at Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Academy ground on Thursday.  

The visitors started their practice session at around 10am that ended at 1:00pm.  

Afghanistan will start their tour campaign with a practice match at Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah on Friday.  

Asghar Stanikzai-led Afghanistan will face BCB X1 in the only practice match, before starting the main draw of the first ever bilateral series involving three ODIs on September 25, 28 and October 1 at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. All the matches are scheduled to start at 2:30pm.

On Tuesday BCB announced a 13-member ‘BCB XI’ squad for the practice match against Afghanistan.  

A 24-member Afghanistan Cricket Team, including seven officials, arrived in Dhaka on Tuesday.  

Meanwhile, BCB on Thursday announced a 13-member squad for the first two ODIs picking up the uncapped Mosaddek Hossain Soiket in the squad.

Afghanistan Squad: Mohamad Asghar Stanikzai (Captain), Mohammad Shahzad Mohammadi, Rahmat Shah Zurmati, Mirwais Ashraf, Dawlat Zadran, Samiullah Shinwari, Mohammad Nabi Eisakhil, Rashid Khan Arman, Hashmatullah Shaidi, Farid Ahmad Malik, Amirhamza Hotak, Najibullah Zadran, Nawroz Mangal, Naveenulhaq Murid, Karim Janat, Shabir Noori and Ihsanullah Janat.  

BCB XI squad (for practice match): Imrul Kayes, Anamul Haque, Mossadek Hossain, Sabbir Rahman, Liton Kumar, Shuvagata Hom, Abu Hider, Sanjamul Islam, Kamrul Islam Rabbi, Al-Amin, Subashis Roy, Mehedi Hasan and Alauddin Babu.  

Bangladesh Squad: Masrafe Bin Mortaza (captain), Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal, Soumya Sarker, Imrul Kayes, Mushfiqur Rahim, Shabbir Rahman, Mosaddek Hossain Saikot, Mahmudullah Riyad, Nasir Hossain, Taijul Islam, Shafiul Islam and Rubel Hossain.
