Bangladesh are set to play their first one-day-international match in 10 months as they take on Afghanistan in the 1st match of the three-match series at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) on Sunday.

The day-night match of the ROCKET Bangladesh vs Afghanistan ODI Series will start at 2:30pm local time (8:30 GMT). Satellite channel Gazi TV will telecast the match live.

A reliable source from Bangladesh Cricket Board informed the playing XI might have seven batsmen and four bowlers. The young gun Mosaddek Hossain Saikot might make his debut on Sunday. Saikot’s latest performance in the practice match against the visiting team speaks for him.

If Saikot is in, that means all-rounder Nasir Hossain is dropped from the playing squad. However, Nasir’s experience might compel the authorities to call him in for the match.

Tamim Iqbal is an automatic choice for the opening pair; but, who is going to be his partner is not confirmed yet. Between Imrul Kayes and Soumya Sarker, coach-captain both want the latter in the team.

So, here is the probable playing XI for Bangladesh:

Masrafe Bin Mortaza (captain), Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal, Soumya Sarker, Mushfiqur Rahim, Shabbir Rahman, Mosaddek Hossain Saikot, Mahmudullah Riyad, Taijul Islam, Shafiul Islam, Taskin Ahmed and Rubel Hossain
