Dhaka: The ‘Player Draft’ for the recruitment of local and foreign cricketers for the 4th edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T20 cricket will be held in the city on Friday

The closed-door event will begin at 6:30pm at the grand ball room of Radisson Blu Water Garden hotel. Channel 9, the official broadcaster of BPL, will telecast the draft live.

This year, seven franchise teams will compete in the BPL with the inclusion of Rajshahi and Khulna anew while Sylhet franchise team— Sylhet Super Kings— will miss the ensuing meet for breaching the franchisee agreement terms.  

Earlier, six teams competed in the BPL in 2012, 2013 and 2015 editions.

The franchise-based teams are defending champions Comilla Victorians, Barisal Bulls, Rangpur Riders, Dhaka Dynamites, Chittagong Vikings, Khulna Titans and Rajshahi team which is yet to be named.
