BPL ‘Player Draft’ completes

Dhaka: The ‘Player Draft’ for the recruitment of local and foreign cricketers for the most exciting segment of the fourth edition of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T20 Cricket was competed in Dhaka Friday night.  

Seven franchise teams will compete in this year BPL with the inclusion of Rajshahi Kings Khulna Titans, while Sylhet franchise team— Sylhet Super Kings— will miss the ensuing meet for breaching the franchisee agreement terms.  

Earlier, six teams competed in the BPL in 2012, 2013 and 2015 editions.

The franchise-based teams are defending champions Comilla Victorians, runners-up Barisal Bulls, Rangpur Riders, Dhaka Dynamites, Chittagong Vikings, Khulna Titans and Rajshahi Kings.

All the seven franchises who are participating in this edition of BPL chose their required players from the players draft segment.

Players of the participating teams are:  

Comilla Victorians : Mashrafe Bin Mortoza (Icon), Imrul Kayes, Litton Kumar Das, Sohail Tanvir, Imad Wasim, Ashar Zaidi, Nuawn Kulasekara , Thisara Perera , Khalid Latif, Shahzaib Hasan, Mohammad Al-Amin, Nazmul Islam Shanto, Nahidul Islam, Md Saifuddin, Jason Holder, Shahzaib Hasan, Nazmul Hasan Shanto, Mohammad Sharif, Nabil Samad, Jasim Uddin, Shoikat Ali, Rasel Al Mamun.

Barisal Bulls: Mushfiqur Rahim (Icon), Al-Amin Hossain, Taijul Islam, Dilshan Munaweera, Mohammad Nawaz, Shamsur Rahman, Abu Hider Rony, Kamrul Islam Rabbi, Nadif Chowdhury, Carlon Brathwaite, Josh Cobb, Mehedi Hasan, Monir Hossain Khan, Shahriar Nafees.
