Bangladesh seal Afghanistan series with 100th ODI win

Dhaka: Bangladesh crushed Afghanistan by 141 runs in the 3rd ODI to seal the series 2-1 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at Mirpur in Dhaka on Saturday.

This is the 100th ODI win for Bangladesh and also the consecutive 6th ODI series win on home ground.

Afghanistan were all out for 138 runs as Mosharraf Hossain Rubel, who came back to International cricket after eight years, bagged three wickets while Taskin Ahmed picked up two wickets. Mashrafe, Shafiul, and Mosaddek took one wicket each.

Rahmat Shah was the highest scorer for Afghanistan with 36 runs. Nawroz Mangal scored 33 runs.

Earlier, Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal recorded 7th century of his career and Sabbir Rahman scored 65 runs to help Bangladesh post a handsome total of 279 runs. Mahmudullah added 32 runs from 22 balls at the end.

Tamim was out on 118 from 118 balls with 11 fours and 2 sixes.

He was adjudged as both the Man of the Match and Man of the Series.
