Enayet Karim elected new GSF president

Dhaka: Bangladeshi sports organiser and economist Dr Enayet Karim has been elected President of the Global Sports Federation (GSF), a United Nations-affiliated international sports organization.
The election was held recently in Ahmedabad, India to form the apex body of the federation that will lead the world sports for next three years.
Dr Karim bagged 105 voters out of 158 UN member countries to defeat the candidates of Greece, Australia and Suriname.
The election was conducted under the supervision of United Nations Office on Sports for Development and Peace (UNOSDP) led by a 3-member election commission.
However, Dr Karim is presently holding the president positions of the Asia-Pacific Sports Federation and the Global Economist Forum respectively.
Indian candidate Shri Vhikhu N Patel elected General Secretary.
Richard Lawrence of USA has been elected Vice President while the other elected directors are: Charles Pais of Canada, Paul Joof of Gambia, Batan Biswas of Sweden, Nancy de Sousa of South Africa, Wayne Lim of Malaysia and Sameera Aziz of Saudi Arabia.
