Dhaka: The rain-interrupted first two-day warm-up match between Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) XI and England XI ended in draw at MA Aziz Stadium in Chittagong on Saturday.

The first day’s play on Friday was called off due to wet outfield and the match started on 2nd day with 45-overs a side.

England XI opened the first innings with bat, after winning the toss, and scored 137 for 4 in stipulated 45 overs, spurred by the opening stand 78 in 20 overs between Haseeb Hamid and Ben Duckett.

Duckett was retired out for 59 off 63 balls with six boundaries while Gary Balance (27), Moeen Ali (24) and Hamid (16) were the other double-figure scorers for the side.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) XI skipper Sabbir Rahman was successful bagging three wickets for economic 27 runs in nine overs for his side.

The host opened their first innings to score 136 for 4 in 44 overs with the opening pair contribution of 88 in 28.1 overs between Shahriar Nafees and Soumya Sarkar.

Both the left arm openers-- Shahriar and Soumya -- were retired out scoring 51 and 33 runs respectively. Shahriar faced 79 balls featuring five boundaries while Soumya played 96 balls involving two boundaries and two sixes.

Sabbir Rahman was out for 30 off 45 balls, including four boundaries and one over boundary while Nazmul Hossain Shanto added unbeaten 17 runs.

Gareth Batty took two wickets for 31 runs in 10 overs on behalf of the visitors.

Both sides will play their 2nd two-day warm-up match at the same venue starting at 10am on Sunday.
