BCB celebrates three years of success
Dhaka: Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) celebrated its three years of achievement arranging Mezban, a delicious food festival, in Mirpur on Monday.
Addressing the function, BCB president Nazmul Hasan presented a clear picture of the achievements of the cricketers, BCB executive committee, standing committees and organizers.
Including cricketers, organisers, media personnel, members of law enforcement agencies and intelligence agency members, around three thousand guests attended the function.
Nazmul Hasan credited the cricketers for the achievement saying, “Our cricketers are the main craftsmen behind all the success.”
BCB president said, “We have many talented players in the pipeline. After eight years who will play in the Bangladesh national cricket team, we can make that plan now.”
Among their remarkable successes during the last three years, Bangladesh defeated Zimbabwe in the Test and ODI series at home in November-December 2104. The Tigers mesmerised the world cricket stage reaching the quarterfinals, for the first time, in the ICC World Cup 2015 in Australia and New Zealand. Then they managed five successive ODI series victories at home against India, Pakistan, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Afghanistan, before the maiden Test victory against England in October 2016.
Headed by Nazmul Hasan, the existing executive committee of BCB took responsibility in October 2014 and worked to hosts international events --ICC World T20, ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup 2016 where Bangladesh finished 3rd, and Asia Cup 2016. Besides, BCB orgainsed franchise event Bangladesh Premier League third edition.
During this period, BCB brought out some talented cricketers like-- pace sensation Mustafizur Rahman, wild hitter Sabbir Rahman, all-rounder Mehedi Hasan Miraz, speed star Taskin Ahmed, Soumya Sarkar and Mosaddek Hossain.
