The fourth season of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T20 cricket started on 8 November 2016. Comilla Victorians faces Chittagong Vikings in the first match at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in Mirpur.  Comilla Victorians captain Mashrafe won the toss and decided to field first.

BPL season 4 supposed to start on November 4. Due to the interruption of heavy rainfall, it remained postponed. But, BCB decided to start the tournament immediately.  

Defending champion Comilla Victorians form a powerful team. Captain Mashrafe will lead the star cricketers such as Nuwan Kulasekera, Jason Holder, and Marlon Samuels. Imrul Kayes, Liton Das, and Nazmul Hossain Shanto will play as local players.

On the other side, the most successful T20 player Chris Gayle is in Chittagong Vikings squad who will join the team later. Dwayne Smith, Shoaib Malik, Grant Elliott, Taskin Ahmed , Abdur Razzak are also playing from the same team.
