Dhaka: Barisal Bulls denied Rajshahi Kings top-scorer Sabbir Rahman's maiden century of 122 runs on the way to its 2nd successive victory with four runs in their 3rd encounters of the 4th Bangladesh Premier League T20 at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Sunday.

Chasing the tournament highest target of 193, Kings fell short of five runs scoring 188 for 6 in 20 overs with Sabbir Rahman’s ton featuring nine boundaries and nine sixes off 61 balls overthrowing Bulls skipper Mushfiqur Rahim's unbeaten 81 on the way to this tournament highest team total of 192/4 in 20 overs.

The day's man of the match Sabbir Rahman faced 53 balls to complete his century mission to score 101 runs taking two runs off Abu Hider's bowling in 14.2 overs when his team collection was at 136 for 4 wickets. Sabbir was caught by Dwaid Malan off Al-Amin Hossain bowling at team collection of 159/5 in 16 overs.

Besides his individual performance, Sabbir stayed with Thisara Perera in the 4th wicket for 68 in 6.4 overs, starting their composures from 49/3 in 5.5 overs carried the team total to 117/4 in 12.3 overs, before Patel was caught by Mushfiqur Rahim off Abu Hider bowling.

In the 2nd wicket, Sabbir paired with Mominul Haque to add another partnership figure of 48 in 5.2 overs that led the team total to 49/2 in 5.4 overs rebuilding the collection from early jolt of 1 for 1 in 2 balls, after Raqibul Hasan with duck.

Skipper Darren Sammy scored 27 while Samit Patel (15) and opener Mominul Haque (12) were the other double figure scorers for the side.

Making the first breakthrough in the Kings batting castle in the innings 2nd delivery -- dismissing Raqibul Hasan -- pace bowler Al-Amin Hossain bagged three wickets for 35 runs in three overs.

Abu Hider, Monir Hossain and Rayad Emrit took one wicket each for 29, 30 and 34 runs respectively.

Earlier, sent into bat first, Barisal Bulls set the highest target figure of 193 in the seven-team franchised tournament with skipper Mushfiqur's unbeaten 81 that helped to building up the tournament highest partnership figure of 112 runs in 11.5 overs with Shahriar Nafees in the 3rd wicket.

The earlier highest partnership figure in the meet was 88 in 8.4 overs, was in the opening stand, between Kumar Sangakkara and Mehedi Maruf for Dhaka Dynamites for an 8-wicket win against Barisal Bulls in the tournament 2nd match on Tuesday (November 8).

In the day's match, Mushfiqur and Nafees started their 3rd pair show from 21/2 in 4.1 overs and played 71 balls to rebuild their collection reaching at 133/3 in 16 overs, before Nafees was caught by Nurul Hasan off Darren Sammy bowing.

Mushfiqur continued in the 4th wicket with Thisara Perera (24 off 11b) to play till the end for another partnership figure of 59 in 4 overs, before Perera was run out in the innings last ball off Kesrick Williams.

Mushfiqur faced 52 balls to fire five boundaries and four sixes while Nafees's praiseworthy 63 off 44 balls witnessed four boundaries and four sixes.

Bulls faced early jolt in the very 3rd delivery losing opener Dilshan Munaweera without any collection. Farhad Reza made the first breakthrough with a catch assistance of Umar Akmal.

Farhad Reza shook the Bulls batting line again at 21/1 in 4.1 overs dismissing Dawid Malan (13) who was caught by Nurul Hasan scoring 13 off 11 balls, including one boundary.

Reza conceded 22 runs for two in four overs while skipper Darren Sammy took one wicket for 36 runs in three overs.
