Mashrafe's Comilla find their groove at last

Chittagong: Mashrafe Mortaza-led defending champion Comilla Victorians tasted their maiden win by 32 runs against Rajshahi Kings in the 19th match of the 4th Bangladesh Premier League T20 at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on Saturday.

Victorians opened their account in the points table collecting two points with day's win from six matches while Kings remained their previous collection of two points from five encounters with one win and four losses.

Chasing a target of 153, Kings finished their energy at 120/10 in 19 overs riding on the opener Mominul Haque's 2nd half century in the tournament.

Mominul scored 53 off 43 balls, including five boundaries and one six, and was caught by Khalid Latif off RN ten Doeschate's bowling, leaving team total at 91/5 in 14 overs.

Samit Patel and Junaid Siddique added 12 and 10 runs while Victorians bowler didn't allowed any bowler to figure double digit.

The day's man of the match 'Sohail Tanvir' captured four wickets for economic 18 runs in four overs while Mohammad Saifuddin bagged three for 27 also in four-over. Skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and RN ten Doeschate took one wicket each conceding 15 and 19 runs. 

Sent into bat first, Victorians scored 152 for 5 in 20 overs spurred by the opener Nazmul Hossain Shanto and Imrul Kayes's innings figure of 41 and 34 runs respectively.

Shanto faced 40 balls to fired four boundaries and was caught by Mehedi Hasan Miraz off skipper Darren Sammy's bowling at 84/3 in 11.5 overs.

Kayes fired five boundaries off 25 balls before being run out at 103/4 in 14.2 overs.

RN ten Doeschate and Sohail Tanvir added unbeaten 21 and 15 runs respectively on their way to building up a partnership figure of 45 in 4.5 overs in the 6th wicket stand that carried the team total to their final score, starting from 111/5 in 15.1 overs.

Victorians 2nd wicket -- Ahmed Shehzad (11) -- was caught by Junaid Siddique off Mehedi Hasan Miraz bowling leaving tea total at 41/2 in 6.2 overs. 

Skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza brought change in batting order and came to bat in number-5 position to add run-a-ball 10 with one boundary. 

Farhad Reza made the first breakthrough in his 3rd ball of the first spell dismissing Khalid Latif (6), also was caught by Junaid Siddique, at 41/2 in 6.2 overs.

Darren Sammy bagged two wickets for 34 runs while Farhad Reza and Mehedi Hasan Miraz took one wicket each for 26 and 29 runs respectively, all bowled four overs apiece.
