Shakib's Dhaka on top beating Mushfiq's Barisal

Dhaka: Dhaka Dynamites secured a four-wicket victory over Barisal Bulls in their 9th tussle of the 4th Bangladesh Premier League T20 at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Sunday.  

With this win, Dhaka Dynamites collected 12 points from nine outings, having six wins and three loses, to push down Khulna Titans to the 2nd slot by virtue of more net run rate. Playing nine games, Khulna Titans also collected the same number of points and has the same win-loss record. 

Barisal Bulls icollected six points from nine matches having three wins and six loses. 

In the day’s match, chasing a target of 133, Dhaka Dynamites reached their destination scoring 135 for 6 in 19.2 overs with West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo’s boundary in the innings last ball off Thisara Perera. 

Nasir Hossain scored 34 off 29 balls, including two boundaries and one six, while Lankan wicketkeeper-batsman Kumar Sangakkara added 32 off 33 balls firing four boundaries. 

Mosaddek Hossain (23), skipper Shakib Al Hasan (22) and Seekkuge Prasanna (10) were the other double digit scorers for the side. 

Batting first after winning the toss, Barisal Bulls collected a figure of 132 for 6 in 20 overs with skipper Mushfiqur Rahim top-scoring 36 off 30 balls, including two boundaries. 

Rumman Raees added unbeaten 25 off 13 balls, firing two boundaries and one six. Nadif Chowdhury (21), Thisara Perera (unbeaten 15) and Dilshan Munaweera (10) were the other double figure scorer for the side. 

Delivering four overs each, Abu Jayed, Ravi Bopara, Shakib Al Hasan and Dwayne Bravo took one wicket each for 12, 23, 31 and 35 runs respectively.
