Dhaka: Comilla Victorians stunned Rangpur Riders by eight-run win in their 12th and last match of the 4th Bangladesh Premier League T20 at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Sunday.

Rangpur Riders must pray for Khulna Titans's defeat against Dhaka Dynamites in the day's next game, with that the 42-match involving seven-team double-league phase of the tournament will wrap-up deciding the final-four teams.

With this result, Rangpur remained in their previous position of 4th, by virtue of better run rate, in the points table collecting 12 points, followed by Khulna also earned 12 points.

If Khulna can manage a win against table topper Dhaka in the last match, Rangpur will slip into 5th meaning that they will out of final-four race.

In the day's match, chasing a target of 171, Rangpur finished the innings at 162 for 8 in 20 overs, including opener Mohammad Shahzad top-scoring 45 off 31 balls that witnessed five boundaries and two over boundaries.

Shahid Afridi and Ziaur Rahman scored 38 runs each, while skipper Naeem Islam added 14 runs to be another double figure scorer for the side.

Man of the match Rashid Khan captured three wickets for 13 runs in four overs.

Comilla skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and Nabil Samad bagged two wickets each for 27 and 35 runs, both bowled four overs apiece. Mohammad Saifuddin took another wicket for 34 runs.

Sent into bat first, Imrul Kayes's half century of 52 helped Comilla Victorians score 170 for six-wicket in 20 overs, spurred by the opening pair stand of 88 in 10.2 overs between Kayes and Khalid Latif.

Kayes fired seven boundaries and two over boundaries off 35 balls and was caught by Liam Dawson off Arafat Sunny's bowling to depart from opening pair.

Latif fell short of seven runs for another half century, was caught by Shahid Afridi off Arafat Sunny's bowling when the team collection was at 107/2 in 13 overs.

Latif scored 43 off 36 balls, including three boundaries and two over boundaries, while Marlon Samuels (30 off 24b; 2x4, 1x6), Ashar Zaidi (17) and Rashid Khan (not out 11) were the other double figure scorer for the side.

Arafat Sunny and Rubel Hossain bagged two wickets each for 29 and 30 runs in three and four overs respectively. Shahid Afridi took one wicket for 30 runs in four overs.
