Dhaka Abahani clinch BPL title

Dhaka: Abahani Limited Dhaka clinched the title of JB Bangladesh Premier League football with one match to spare when they blanked Uttar Baridhara Club by 4-0 goals held on Monday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka.
This win saw the traditional sky blue Dhanmondi 'outfit' Abahani Limited secured an unassailable 49 points after 21 matches.
Chittagong Abahani, the second placed team of the table has 44 points and they will not be able to topple Dhaka Abahani even if they win their last match.
In the nine editions of Premier League Abahani now have five silverware's, they last won the title back in 2011-12 season and had to wait three seasons to regain their supremacy.
Abahani's English forward Jonathan David opened an account for his team in the 18th minute while Nabib Newaz Jibon doubled the lead in the 58th minute.
Midfielder Emon Babu further widened the margin scoring the third goal in the 83rd minute from a penalty while midfielder Faisal Mahmud completed the winners' tally with a brilliant header three minutes before the long whistle.
Uttar Baridhara has 17 points from 21 matches and are placed 11th among the 12 teams.
