Nasir hammers doubles for Rangpur
Dhaka: All-rounder Nasir Hossain, who was not included in the national ODI squad for New Zealand tour for unknown reason, hammered a double century scoring 201 runs for Rangpur Division in the 1st innings against Sylhet Division in a Tier 2 match of the four-day National Cricket League (NCL) on day 3 at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Thursday.
Nasir played a long innings of 343 balls to feature 24 boundaries and three over boundaries to complete his double that led Rangpur to raise their tally to score 398/9 in 119 overs, before declared the innings, from overnight score of 175/5 in 45 overs.
Nasir Hossain started the 3rd day with his overnight score of 105 off 160 balls, including 14 boundaries and one six, while his team resumed the 1st innings replying to Sylhet Division 272 runs in the 1st innings.
Sylhet opened the 2nd innings on day 3 and remained at stumps with 44 for 3 in 15 overs- meaning that Rangpur lead by 82 runs.
Making his first class debut for Barisal Division in October 2008, the 25-year old Nasir played 67matches and score 3734 at average 35.22 with bat while captured 61 wickets for 2095 runs at average 34.34 with his offbreak spin bowling.
