Taskin bags maiden Test wicket
Dhaka: It took only 48 balls for Taskin Ahmed to pick his maiden Test wicket when he removed settled New Zealand batsman Kane Williamson on Day Three of the first Test at Wellington.
When Taskin took Kiwi captain Kane Williamson’s wicket, his bowling figure was 8-2-30-1.
Williamson collected 53 runs, firing 8 boundaries, before being caught by Imrul Kayes and bowled by debutant Taskin Ahmed.
Tigers’ fast bowler Taskin made his Test debut against New Zealand in the first Test at Wellington that has begun on Thursday (January 12).
The Bangladesh bowler was very emotional when he received his cap from team’s bowling coach Walsh.
On his Test debut, Taskin started bowling with four slips and a gully against kiwi batsman Raval at 9th over of New Zealand innings.
Taskin carried on good length ball and angling away outside off from over the stumps and nothing to do from kiwi batsman Raval.
In the fourth ball of his first over, the 21-year-old bowler missed a chance of getting wicket as Shakib dropped simple catch at third slip.
Taskin, who made debut in international match on Jun 17, 2014 against India in Dhaka, has played 23 ODIs and has taken 35 wickets at an average of 27.8.
