Dhaka: Bangladesh National Women’s Football team was accorded a grand reception at the conference room of BFF House Saturday afternoon for their brilliant success in the SAFF Women’s Championship.

Bangladesh finished runners-up for the first time in the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Championship losing to hosts and defending champions India in Siliguri on January 4.

Sponsored by Envoy Group, a leading corporate house of the country, all the members of the red and green team, including players and technical officials, were awarded with Tk 20,000 each at the ceremony.

Envoy Group Managing Director and Senior Vice-President of BFF Abdus Salam Murshedy and Director Ishmam Salam distributed the prizes on behalf of the company.

"We acknowledge the feat of the national women’s football team, greet them with a token of respect and we do hope they will continue their success in future", said Ishmam.

BFF president Kazi Salahuddin, vice-president Mohiuddin Ahmed Mohi, EC members Shawkat Ali Khan Jahangire, Satyajit Das Rupu, Bijon Barua, Iqbal Hossain, Fazlur Rahman Babul, Amit Khan Shuvra, Jakir Hossain Chowdhury, Mahfuza Akter Kiron, BFF general secretary Abu Naim Shohag, BFF technical and strategic director Paul Smalley, SAFF general secretary Anwarul Haque Helal, among others, were present at the function.
