Bangladesh qualifies for super-six despite losing against SA
Dhaka: Bangladesh women’s cricket team conceded a 6-wicket defeat against South Africa in their last Group B match of the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier at P Sara Oval, Colombo, Sri Lanka on Saturday.

Electing to bat first, Bangladesh were all out for 100 in 46.5 overs where skipper Rumana Ahmed (39) was the top scorer for the side.
Rumana faced 93 balls to score 39 runs, firing four boundaries while Sanjida Islam (13) and Salma Khatun (16) are the other double scorers for the side.
For South Africa, Shabnim Ismail and Suné Luus took 3 each for 14 and 17 respectively while Dane van Niekerk took 2 wickets for 22 and Marizanne Kapp bagged one for 11.
Chasing the poor target, South Africa women have won the match, collecting 101 runs for 4 wickets with 148 balls remaining.
Lizelle Lee scored 34 runs off 32 balls, firing five boundaries and one over boundaries and Laura Wolvaardt collected 30 runs off 68 balls, including 3 boundaries.
Jahanara Alam, Suraiya Azmin, Rumana Ahmed and Salma Khatun bagged one wicket each.
Bangladesh started the group campaign with a huge 118-run victory against Papua New Guinea, followed by a 67-run defeat against Pakistan in the 2nd match.
Bangladesh Women’s cricket team sealed a 7-wicket victory against Scotland on Friday.
