Mushfiq enters 3000-run club in Tests
Bangladesh cricket team skipper Mushfiqur Rahman joined the 3000-run club on the fourth day of the one-off Test against India in Hyderabad on Sunday.
He raised the first century-stand for Bangladesh against India with Shakib Al Hasan, who also scored his maiden fifty against the neighbouring country.
On Saturday, Mushfiq Rahim became the fourth Bangladeshi batsman to complete 3000 runs or more in Tests, joining Tamim Iqbal (3467), Shakib Al Hasan (3295) and Habibul Bashar (3026).
He reached the milestone during an unbeaten 81-run knock. He has posted his 16th fifty in Tests.
Mushfiq’s average of 67 against India is his best against any countries.
The tigers’ captain is the 184th batsman overall to complete 3000 runs in Tests.
Mushfiqur was 78 runs away to reach the mark before the day and now he has 3003 runs in his bag from 52 Tests at an average 34.51, including four centuries and 16 half centuries.
