BCL: Tushar’s double ton propels South Zone to 501 vs North Zone
Tushar Imran hammered a double century of 220 runs in Prime Bank South Zone’s 1st innings collection of 501/10 on day-2 against BCB North Zone in the 4th round of the four-day-match Bangladesh Cricket League at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan Ground-4 on Monday.
In another 4th round match, Islami Bank East Zone were trailing by 214 runs with 4 wickets in hand in the 1st innings after the 2nd day’s play, replying to defending champions Walton Central Zone’s 1st innings collection of 328/10 in 115.1 overs at Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium, Fatullah.
South Zone vs North Zone
South Zone resumed the 1st innings with their overnight score of 292/3 in 90 overs and played 54.4 overs to add 209 runs more with their previous collection losing seven wickets.
Overnight 4th pair between Tushar Imran and Shahriar Nafees spurred the side contributing 215 runs in 66.1 overs that ended at 349/4 in 108.3 overs starting from 134/3 in 42.2 overs.
Shahriar Nafees (overnight 50) played an innings of 74 off 184 balls, including seven boundaries and one over boundary, and was caught by Farhad Hossain off Sunzamul Islam’s bowling to depart from 4th pair.
Tushar Imran (overnight 127) featured 22 boundaries and three over boundaries off 369 balls for his double century and was bowled out by Nasir Hossain at 491/7 in 139.2 overs.
Another notable scorer Mosaddek Hossain was caught and bowled by Nasir Hossain after firing 57 off 65 balls, including three boundaries and five over boundaries, when the team collection was 476/6 in 135.3 overs.
Suhrawadi Shuvo captured four wickets for 105 runs in the innings while Nasir Hossain and Sunzamul Islam bagged two wickets for 77 and 173 runs.
In reply, North Zone opened the 1st innings on the day and remained at stumps collecting 107/4 in 29 overs to trail by 394 runs with 6 wickets in hand.
Dhiman Ghosh (8) and skipper Nasir Hossain (5) were at crease at the end of the day to resume the innings on day-3.
Opening batsman Farhad Hossain hit a half century of 56 off 73 balls, including four boundaries and three sixes, while Nazmul Hossain added 24 runs to be another double figure scorer for North Zone.
Nahidul Islam captured three wickets for 40 runs while Abdur Razzak took one for 36 runs.

Central Zone vs East Zone
Central Zone resumed the 1st innings on the day with overnight score of 232/7 in 86 overs and finished on 328/10 in 115.1 overs with overnight batsman Mohammad Sharif’s 70 off 102 balls, including five boundaries and four over boundaries.
Skipper-cum-another overnight batsman Mosharraf Hossain was out for 22 runs while Abu Hider and Kamrul Islam Rabbi added 18 and 11 runs respectively on the day.
Abu Jayed captured five wickets for 77 runs in the innings while Afif Hossain and Saqlain Sajib took two wickets each for 20 and 67 runs respectively.
East Zone opened the 1st innings and remained at stumps scoring 114/6 in 39.4 overs to trail by 214 runs with opener Imtiaz Hossain’s top-scoring 36 runs.
Yasir Ali was on batting when the bails were drawn for the day.
Mominul Haque scored 24 runs while Liton Kumar Das and Zakir Hasan added 18 runs each.
Mohammad Sharif claimed four wickets for 24 runs while Mosharraf Hossain and Kamrul Islam Rabbi took one wicket each for the side.
