Dhaka: Bangladesh Cricket team, led by Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, will start their limited-over campaign in Sri Lanka taking on a local selection in lone warm-up match at Colombo Cricket Club ground on Wednesday, ahead of their three-match ODI and two-match T20I series against the Islanders.

The Lankan cricket authorities were yet to disclose the name of the local team which will play the warm-up match against Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, the Tigers made their practices at Max Cricket Academy ground on Tuesday morning.

The Bangladesh team will play day-night basis two ODI matches at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium in Dambulla on March 25 and 28 while the 3rd and the final match will be played at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo on April 1.

The two T20 matches between the two teams will be held on April 4 and 6, both at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

Bangladesh track record in ODI cricket against Sri Lanka is better than in any other formats of cricket with four wins, one no result and 33 defeats in 38 encounters.

Mashrafe’s men will look to keep the momentum going from the historic victory in the 2nd Test, their first in the longer format of the game against Sri Lanka.

The series will surely be the Tigers’ best chance to cement their qualification for the next ODI World Cup in 2019, to be hosted by England.

Earlier, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced a 16-member final squad recruiting uncapped left-arm spinner Sunzamul Islam and recalling all-rounder Shuvagata Hom.

Mehedi Hasan Miraz and Tanbir Hayder have been excluded from the ODI squad that played against New Zealand in December 2016.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka also announced their 15-member squad on March 17, bringing changes to their last squad against South Africa in February 2017. Kusal Perera, Thisara Perera both earn recalls, while opening batsman Danushka Gunathilaka receives his first call-up, graduating from the Sri Lanka A side.

Upul Tharanga will lead the hosts as Angelo Mathews is not available due to injury.

Bangladesh squad: Mashrafe Bin Mortaza (captain), Tamim Iqbal, Soumya Sarkar, Imrul Kayes, Mushfiqur Rahim (wicket-keeper), Shakib Al Hasan, Sabbir Rahman, Mahmudullah Riyad, Mosaddek Hossain, Mustafizur Rahman, Rubel Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, Subashis Roy, Sunzamul Islam, Shuvagata Hom and Nurul Hasan.

Sri Lanka squad: Upul Tharanga (captain), Niroshan Dickwella, Dhananjaya de Silva, Kusal Mendis, Asela Gunaratne, Dinesh Chandimal (wicket-keeper), Kusal Perera, Danushka Gunathilaka, Suranga Lakmal, Lahiru Kumara, Vikum Sanjaya, Thisara Perera, Sachith Pathirana, Seekkuge Prassanna and Lakshan Sandakan.
