Dhaka: The opening day’s play in the one-off cricket Test between India and Bangladesh has been halted because of rain at Fatullah stadium on Wednesday.

India were 107 for no loss in 23.3 overs after electing to bat first.

Openers Shikhar Dhawan (74) and Murali Vijay (33) were going steady when it began raining.

India opener Shikhar Dhawan scores his third half-century for India in the one-off Test against Bangladesh at Fatullah. Dhawan was picked ahead of Cheteshwar Pujara in this match and has so far justified his selection. Dhawan made a cautious start but has scored well over a run-a-ball to get to his milestone.

Murali Vijay on the other end is giving him good support, playing every ball at its merit. Dhawan has played some extravagant  shots and has looked in good form as well. He will want to make good use if this start and get yet another big score.

Earlier, India captain Virat Kohli had won the toss and elected to bat first. Harbhajan Singh makes it back into the playing XI after a gap of two years. Wicket keeper Litton Das is making his debut for Bangladesh as their regular wicket keeper Mushfiqur Rahim is playing only in the capacity of a batsman in this game.

Bangladesh: Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Mominul Haque, Mushfiqur Rahim (c), Shakib Al Hasan, Soumya Sarkar, Litton Das (wc), Shuvagata Hom, Jubair Hossain, Taijul Islam, Mohammad Shahid

India: Shikhar Dhawan, M Vijay, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli (c), Ajinkya Rahane, Wriddhiman Saha (wc), R Ashwin, Harbhajan Singh, Umesh Yadav, Ishant Sharma, Varun Aaron
