Dhaka: Mominul Haque's colossal innings of 152 saw Gazi Group Cricketers registered an exciting 35 runs victory over Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League on Wednesday at BKSP Ground at Savar.

Despite chasing mammoth target of 308 runs to win, Prime DSC made some valiant efforts only to go down by 35 runs.

Samiullah Sherwari with 55, debutant Jakir Ali with 52, Imtiaz Hossain with 42, Shahriar Nafees with 36, Enamul Haque junior with 30 off 23 balls and Arafat Sunny with quick fire 29 not out off 24 balls always kept their rival bowlers in tremendous pressure for Prime DCS.

Nasir Hossain with 3 for 40 and Shafiul Islam with 2 for 51 were the leading Gazi Group bowlers.

Earlier an incredible innings of 152 from 120 balls from Mominul Haque saw Gazi Group Cricketers post a mammoth 307 against Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club.

Prime DSC skipper Farhad Reza won the toss and asked his rivals to bat first. His opening bowlers did not disappoint his skipper as soon Gazi Group batsmen were found to be reeling at 9 for the loss of two wickets inside the first five overs.

However, Gazi Group wrestled back with their third wicket stand of 153 runs in 24.1 overs between Mominul and Nasir Hossain who stopped the rot to lay a platform for a big total.

After Nasir's departure, the 4th wicket partnership of 101 runs in 12.4 overs between Mominul and Pervez Rasool kept the Prime DSC bowlers at bay.

Mominul 's 152 was studded with 16 fours and six sixes. Nasir chipped in with 64 from 76 while Pervez Rasool smashed 53 from 54 balls. Mehedi Hasan gave the final push with 22 from 15 balls as Gazi Group crossed 300 mark.

Prime DSC captain Farhad was the most successful bowler for his team, and he took four wickets for 41 runs in nine overs. Delwar Hossain took 3-39 in 9.2 overs.

Brief Scorecard:

Gazi Group Cricketers: 307 all out in 48.2 overs. Mominul Haque 152 off 120 balls ( 4X16, 6X6), Nasir Hossain 64 off 76 balls(4X7, 6X1), Parvez Rasool 53 off 54 balls, Suhrawadi Shuvo 22. Farhad Reza 4/41, Delwar Hossain 3/39.
