Dhaka: Bangladesh's leading mobile phone operator Robi again has been named as the sponsor of Bangladesh National Cricket Team for next two years with effect from July 1, 2017 to July 1, 2019.

Chairman of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Marketing Committee Kazi Enam Ahmed announced the name of Robi as the sponsor of national cricket team, women's cricket team and under-19 cricket team for next two years at BCB office Thursday afternoon.

Initially five organisations -- Robi, Pran Group, GP, Fresh brand of Megna Group and B-Kash -- participated in the bidding and finally Robi and Pran Group battled for the sponsorship as three other organisations failed to meet the BCB requirements.

However, BCB did not disclose the sponsorship money with Robi, but the floor price of the bud was Taka 60 crore.
 
Managing Director and CEO of Robi Mahtab Uddin Ahmed expressed his satisfaction for continuing sponsorship.
