Dhaka: Tigers are cheering over the brilliant performance against India and Pakistan. Now it is time to face South Africa. Will the Tigers be able to defeat the Proteas?

Bangladesh will face South Africa in the first T20 of the two-match T20 series on Sunday.

Tiger skipper Mashrafe Mortaza thinks that it will not be easy to beat South Africa. He considers the new series as a new challenge.

‘There is nothing new to tell about the strength of South Africa. They are a very strong side. It’s a new series, so, it’s a new challenge for us. We have to win the challenge performing well in the field.’ said Mashrafe in a press conference at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at Mirpur in Dhaka on Saturday.

Bangladesh have a poor record of winning only 12 T20s out of 42 matches. They had to taste defeat in the two matches played against South Africa.

Confident Mashrafe said ‘It’s true that our T20 record is not good. But statistics can be changed through success.’

Regarding the success against India and Pakistan, Tiger captain said ‘We were outstanding against India and Pakistan. If we can keep the consistency up, we will gain success again.’
