A mother from Arkansas in the United States who couldn’t bear the sound of her crying son decided to put some alcohol in his bottle in an attempt to calm him down, reported the Daily Mail.

Lori Sheppard, 28, added some bourbon to her 10-month-old infant’s milk bottle.

The toddler was taken to hospital for several days after he was found ‘limp and unresponsive’.

‘Sheppard, meanwhile, was arrested and charged with child endangerment and aggravated assault.’

According to the Smoking Gun, Sheppard had told cops that the child ‘was fine before she placed him in his playpen’ at her home.

‘After stepping out of her trailer, she claims that her son was unconscious by the time she went back inside.’

‘When police questioned her, despite initially denying giving the baby alcohol, she eventually confessed to putting booze in Ronald’s bottle.

Sheppard told investigators that when Tylenol and Motrin did not relieve the infant’s discomfort, she asked her mother who suggested rubbing alcohol on the baby’s gums.

‘The little boy was airlifted to Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock - he had a blood alcohol content of .19.’

‘He was in hospital for treatment until he was able to be released into the custody of child welfare workers.’
