15 Bangladeshis held in Malaysia
Fifteen Bangladeshis were caught for various immigration offences in a raid at a plywood factory in Pokok Sena, Malaysia on Tuesday.
Total 89 foreigners of eight nationalities were detained during the raid, reports The Star Online today.
Police also arrested a Malaysian man for allegedly harbouring the foreigners.
‘They were among 860 foreigners and locals screened during the raid led by Kedah Immigration Depart-ment assistant director Nar Azaman Ibrahim at 2.45pm on Tuesday.’
‘Department director Mohamad Yusri Hashim said the foreigners arrested comprised 26 Nepalis, 21 Indonesians, 21 Vietnamese, 15 Bangladeshis, two Chinese nationals, two Pakistanis, a Cambodian and a Myanmar national.’
‘It is believed that they were employed as technicians to repair the factory’s plywood processing machines which were made in China.’
