Indo-Bangladesh power line test run successful
The Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) has successfully supplied power in Indo-Bangladesh transmission line on test run under the project of supplying 726 MW power to Bangladesh.
India will supply 100 MW power to South Comilla grid of Bangladesh this month from Tripura according to Indo-Bangladesh agreement, reported The Northeast Today.
‘All over dimensional consignments (ODC) for Palatana project were transported through Ashuganj sea port of Bangladesh because of poor condition of Tripura’s life line NH 44. Bangladesh allowed India to use its port and roadways from Ashuganj to Akhaura of Agartala hoping to get power from the project.’
‘A total of 64 towers were established to erect the transmission line while 400 KV double circuit transmission line has been erected to supply more power to Bangladesh if the situation arises in future.’
