New Delhi:  A  20-year-old woman who worked as an assistant chef at a five-star hotel in south Delhi was pushed off the fourth floor of an under-construction building in Rohini district’s Begumpur in India for resisting a rape attempt by one of her ‘friends’, reports Times of India.

Police said the matter came to light around 11:00pm on Friday, when the victim’s friends made a PCR call. Police went to the spot, finding the girl lying naked in a pool of blood. She is now battling for life. ‘We got a call from police late at night, informing us that our daughter was hurt. Nobody told us that she was injured to such an extent,’ said the victim’s father.

He said his daughter was unwell, but still she went to meet her friends as they insisted on meeting her. Police said all of them worked in the same hotel until the accused shifted to another five-star hotel as the assistant chef. The woman had met the accused for the first time with two of their mutual friends when the incident took place.

Police said three of them, including the accused, reached a market near the victim’s house and called her up, asking her to meet them there. When she arrived, four of them made a plan to go to a mall in Subhash Nagar. The four sat on the bike of the accused.

As the four rode the same bike, police stopped them at a checkpost in Punjabi Bagh and impounded the vehicle, police said. When they were left with no option, they planned to go to the accused’s house so that he could take his car and drop all of them back home. They boarded an auto-rickshaw to the accused’s house.

Police said the accused asked his friends to keep sitting in the autorickshaw till he comes back. But he took the victim along with him on the pretext of introducing her to his mother. However, according to the police, he dragged the girl to the fourth floor of an underconstruction building, where he tore her clothes and attempted to rape her. But when the girl started shouting for help, he thrashed her and pushed her off the fourth floor.

During the fall, the woman hit cable wires before hitting the floor, police said.

One of the locals who saw her falling started shouting for help. Hearing the commotion, the accused’s friends waiting in the autorickshaw rushed to the spot and informed PCR.
