Sirsa: Minutes before the announcing of quantum of sentence to dera head Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, a car was set on fire allegedly by his followers between Phulkan and Kotli villages of Sirsa district.

However, no casualties have been reported in the incident, reports Times on India.
Meanwhile, the Sirsa district administration on Monday said there are no plans to seal the dera main complex. The announcement has come at a time when the state government has already locked down 36 dera branches in Haryana.

‘The dera is not sealed and we have no such plans yet. We have, however, evacuated Shahi Basera, which is an orphanage inside the dera complex.

Around 34 children, including girls, have been taken out and handed over to the programme officer intensive child development supervisor after their medical examination,’ said Sirsa sub-divisional magistrate Paramjit Singh Chahal.

On Monday, the administration also took out a flag march in the township while curfew remained imposed in the district. The curfew was relaxed on Sunday from 6 am to 11am.

Two more companies of Indo-Tibetan Border Police were called in the district, which already has a deployment of 20 companies of Central Reserve Police Force, four of Border Security Force and five battalions of Haryana police.

Sirsa superintendent of police Ashwin Shenvi said, ‘A case has been registered against unidentified people for arson in the district. No other incidents of violence were reported from Sirsa.’
