A woman has spoken out about being kept prisoner for six years by a man who repeatedly sexually assaulted her – getting her pregnant four times.

The woman gave birth to four children while being kept in a tiny concrete flat with no windows or access to daylight.

She only managed to escape after calling police who stormed the flat earlier this week – discovering her and the children inside.

The woman – in her 20s and named only as Lilia – told local reporters in Pushkino, Moscow, Russia: ‘We were locked inside all the time. ‘I could not go out anywhere.

‘My youngest daughter has been outside only once in her life.’ She claims the man occasionally took the children out but kept Lilia shut away in the tiny apartment with unplastered walls, reports the Metro.

‘He kicked me, beating me with a stick,’ she said. ‘Once he broke his stick when beating me – and the children saw.

‘He said to our son ‘when you grow up, you must keep beating her like this, with your fists, kicking her, because she is very bad’.

‘This is what he told our children about me.’ Lilia and her children are now living in a women’s shelter.

The children reportedly cannot speak properly and have been left with ‘development problems’ after being kept inside for most of their young lives.

Lawyer Sergey Afanasiev said the woman and her children had been kept ‘hostage’ and she had been subjected to ‘violence and torture’.

Lilia claims the man told her she could leave the flat if she got her parents to pay him 200 million roubles (£2.5million).

‘All his evil was expressed on me,’ she said. Police confirmed they are now investigating the man accused.
