Nurses at a South Korean hospital ‘cried in shame’ as they were made to perform a ‘sexy dance’ in front of high-ranking officials.

Outrage was sparked in the country after a video of nurses performing sexually suggestive dances on stage were circulated online, reports the Metro.

They were dressed in short pants and small tops during an annual sports event in October. The nurses reportedly work at Sacred Heart Hospital, in the northern city of Chuncheon, according to the Korea Times.

‘Those forced to dance are usually the newly hired nurses, who are unable to refuse such orders,’ the nurse wrote on social media on Friday.

‘We were forced to dance in front of high-ranking officials of the firm, who sat side-by-side at a long table.’

The Korean Nurses Association called for a thorough investigation, and said in a statement: ‘There are numerous nurses who endure an intense workload, low paycheck and frequent overtime with their sense of duty and vocation.

Considering this, the scandal was defamatory and offensive to these nurses.’

After seeing the disturbing footage, many other nurses came forward to say they were forced to do similar dances.

‘We had to lie down on the floor and spread our legs in front of patients and their guardians,’ one nurse wrote. Another nurse said they cried to show their humiliations but officials simply ignored their complaints.
