Female police beats devotee who objected to her entering temple in a gown
A temple in the central suburbs of Mumbai in India has decided to not allow women devotees wearing gowns inside its premises.
A police sub-inspector reacted violently when a woman devotee informed her about the rule and raised an objection, reports the India Today.
CCTV footage has revealed that Asha Gaikwad, a devotee, stopped sub-inspector Pratiksha Lakde from entering the Tisai Temple in Kalyan east as she was wearing a gown.
The law-enforcer went on to take law into her hands and started thrashing Asha Gaikwad.
Even though Asha fell down, Lakde didn’t stop. She kept punching and kicking her while she lay on the ground.
Police only registered a non-cognisable complaint against Pratiksha Lakde. A few locals have demanded that strict action should be initiated against the sub-inspector for her behaviour.
