Virginia, US: Six volunteer firefighters are accused of gang raping a 17-year-old and posting footage of it on Snapchat.

The men from the Strasburg Fire Department in Virginia, two of whom are department leaders, are charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Virginia State Police confirmed the suspects as Nathan Hirschberg, 26, Andrew Key, 24, Dale King, 36, Bradly Marlin, 21, Christopher Pangle, 32, Fabian Sosa, 25.

The alleged victim's mother provided police with screenshots of the attack from Snapchat, an affidavit obtained by FOX 5 stated, reports The Sun.

Investigators say they pictures show the alleged victim was ‘highly intoxicated’ and ‘intimidated’ by all of the suspects. She said sex with at least one of the suspects was not consensual.

The suspects all face up to 12 months in jail and / or $2,500 (£1,800) in fines, Fox 5 reported.

The alleged attack is said to have taken place in three different locations, including the firehouse, in April.

Virginia State Police began investigating the case after Strasburg's mayor was made aware of the footage on social media.

The video in question is reported to have been titled: ‘Gang-rape of a 17-year-old female by members of the Strasburg Fire.’
