At least two explosions went off outside the entrance to a district police station in the village of Novoselitskoye in the Stavropol region, Russian news agency RT reported quoting a police spokesman.

‘The attackers failed to harm any officers or civilians.

It is unclear how many suicide bombers were involved in the incident. Various reports put the number at between two and four. Two militants were killed in an attack on a police station in Stavropol region. One of them was killed while trying to pass a checkpoint. The other one managed to detonate his explosive device,” local police said in an official report, says RT.

‘The police said they had been placed on a state of alert in the wake of the attack.’

‘RIA Novosti also cites a security source as saying at least five explosive devices were used in the attack.

No injuries were sustained among police and locals, it has been reported.’

‘Stavropol region is located in southern Russia, close to the turbulent Northern Caucasus.’
